To celebrate the second Surrey Model Fair held on the 28th February 1981, the Swapmeet organisers obtained permission from Lesney Products to produce a promotional model. A quantity of 2000 one piece canopies were made of which 500 were used for the Surrey model and another 500 used for the Aspects & Images model.
The marketing of the model and Swapmeet was handled by Mr. Don MacKenzie whilst the production of the one piece canopy, and the authorised conversion of the model, was undertaken by Mr. Martin Beacon.
The 500 Crossleys were obtained by the Tangley Model Workshops Limited of Guildford and for this service the firm's logo can be found on the rear canopy flap.

Logo: - label - 'SURREY' in black, surrounded by a red outline and the date in red print - 'TANGLEY MODEL WORKSHOP' in black on rear of 1 piece canopy.

Other Comments/Identifying Features: The model has type C body (no cleats), type "B" front springs (additional strengthening web has been added), small grey metal spare rivet, and the type "C" baseplate. The base is held in place with 2 machined rivets.
